The Spud & Gouge offers a wide array of benefits in several eye procedures. Its principal use is to provide different tools to remove deep or prominent foreign bodies.

To this end, the instrument features a versatile double-ended design comprised of different tips. For example, the triangular spud is perfect to remove superficial non-magnetic bodies without injuring the cornea. On the other hand, the gouge is ideal to reach deeper particles and helps to remove bodies from harder surfaces.

Moreover, the Spud & Gouge features a screw coupling design on its tips. As a result, surgeons can mount them in the handle with ease before the procedure. Also, the handle has a knurled-style cover that provides a strong grip.
