El Retractor para Mentón de Obwegeser ofrece beneficios indispensables en cirugías reconstructivas. Su función principal radica en sujetar la mandíbula en una posición óptima en cirugías de genioplastia ósea.

Para lograrlo, el instrumento cuenta con una hoja de curvatura pronunciada provista de tres dientes. De tal modo, la curvatura es útil para retraer el labio y retraer el cuerpo anterior de la mandíbulas. Por otro lado, son los dientes los que se fijan a la protuberancia para sostenerla firmemente.
