The Obwegeser J-Stripper receives its name after the shape of its blade. The principal use of this device is to face the contour of the mandible’s inferior and posterior borders to atraumatically expose the bone.
For this purpose, the instrument features a deeply curved blade, which permits to pry up muscles and dissect periosteal flaps. In addition, the blade is available in a variety of sizes that range from 5 to 9mm to fit different jaw variants. The design of the blade is ideal to perform sagittal split osteotomy.
Moreover, the Obwegeser J-Stripper features a straight shaft that allows for deep surgical access. Also, the handle has vertical grooves and a finger depression that prevent slippage and fatigue.
