The McIndoe Dressing Forcep is a thumb-type instrument that offers multiple benefits. Its principal function is to carry dressings for packing wounds and absorbing blood and other fluids.

For this purpose, the instrument features a pair of long, tapering jaws that ensure deep surgical access. Moreover, the jaws have fine serrations that not only serve to grasp delicate dressings but also to remove debris and torn tissues.

In addition, the McIndoe Dressing Forcep features a thumb-style handle with flat stems that form a spring system. This ensures a smooth closure action, and the horizontal ridges on its surface permit an efficient grip.
