The Converse Alar Hook consists of a flat handle that has perforations and a double-ended design. Moreover, the handle perforations allow surgeons to perform self-retaining tractions.

In addition, the alar hook’s working ends feature two sharp prongs to ensure safe manipulation of the nasal alae.

As a result, the alar hook is a perfect instrument to expose the alar cartilage. This is useful during rhinoplasty and other plastic surgery procedures.
