The Smith Sagittal Split Separator offers a wide range of advantages during mandibular reconstructive surgery. Its principal use is to complete the division of the superior ramus osteotomy cut.

For this purpose, the instrument features a lateral, semi-sharp blade that has an ideal design to split the ramus. In addition, the device is available in left and right patterns to suit each side of the mandibular bone.

Moreover, the Smith Sagittal Split Separator features a curved shaft to perform the sagittal cut with precision. Furthermore, the bulky, hollow handle includes a bottom hook for resting the hand, which minimizes fatigue.
