The Schiotz Tonometer offers a wide array of advantages for evaluating patients at risk of glaucoma. Its principal use is to provide an accurate calculation of the eye’s IOP.
For this purpose, the instrument features a V-shaped mount with a scale that measures the corneal surface’s depth. In addition, the device includes a pointer/lever system that marks the scale between 0 and 20. The specialist analyses the resulting number with a conversion table to get the exact IOP.
Moreover, the Schiotz Tonometer includes a plunger system with three different weights to calibrate the scale. The weight range of these pieces varies from 5.5 to 10.0 grams. Also, the operator can easily slide the weights into the assembly pin using a V-shaped keyway.
Additionally, the instrument has a curved footplate at its bottom, which follows the contour of the cornea. As a result, the specialist can place the device on the eye without risk of trauma.
Manufactured in premium grade stainless steel to ensure the highest quality instruments in your operating rooms.
