The Ragnell-Davis Retractor has multiple uses during general surgeries. For example, its unique design allows surgeons to widen wound edges.

To this end, the retractor has a two blades that surgeons control using a central handle. As a result, with a simple finger rotation, surgeons can swipe between the small and large blades.

In a similar fashion, the L-shaped blades are slightly concave to slip under tissues without injuring the surrounding structures.
