For this purpose, the instrument features a pair of longitudinally serrated tips that ensure impeccable grasps. Moreover, the straight profile allows surgeons to mount Raytec and laparotomy sponges on the tips for absorbing fluids in deep cavities.

In addition, the Ochsner Dressing Forcep features a thumb-style spring handle that facilitates a smooth clamping movement. Also, its outer ridges are useful to secure a firm grip and minimize finger strain.
