Mathieu Rectal Speculum is used in outpatient rectal examination as well as surgeries on rectum and anus including fistulotomy, anal tear repair, hemorrhoidectomy, band ligation and rectal biopsy.

The rectal speculum consists of three prongs that can be inserted into the anus and then dilated using the pivoted spring mechanism up to a diameter of 2 inches. The surgeon can then lock the rectal speculum in place using the screw lock.

The overall length of the Mathieu Rectal Speculum is 19.5 cm with 90 mm blades. It features a rivet/screw with comfort grip handle and three jaws.
