The Masing Cartilage Slitting Knife is for cutting away cartilages during tonsillectomies. These cartilages are the connective tissue that attach the tonsils to the fossa. The thin neck of the instrument lets it bypass obstructive tissue and get to the targeted region. Also, its arrow-shaped tip allows it to precisely cut away the connective ends of cartilages without disturbing other tissue. The long square-shaped handle makes it easily makes it easily manoeuvrable.
