El Manipulador de LIO de Deitz ofrece múltiples ventajas durante el acto operatorio. Su función principal consiste en manipular el LIO dentro del segmento anterior del ojo sin lesionar tejidos adyacentes.

Para tal fin, el instrumento ostenta una punta bifurcada provista de dos dientes romos. De tal modo, su diseño atraumático es lo que le permite manipular el LIO con facilidad. Además, el espacio entre los dientes es perfecto para sujetar el LIO e introducirlo en la cámara.
