The Javid Carotid Shunt Clamps are vital instruments for performing carotid endarterectomy. Their principal function during the procedure is diverting the blood flow when surgeons occlude the carotid artery.
For this purpose, the clamps come with horizontally serrated jaws, and their terminal parts feature hollow, semicircular tips. Moreover, the tips form a perfect circle when they come together, and surgeons can hold the shunt’s proximal and terminal ends in place by closing the jaws.
Besides, the clamps come with resilient, long shanks for accessing through the muscular and fat layers of the neck. Also, the shanks have a ratchet mechanism for controlling the clamping pressure.
