Hegar Uterine Dilators are used in outpatient procedures such as intrauterine contraceptive device insertion as well as surgeries such as dilatation and evacuation, dilation and curettage and uterine biopsy.

The single ended dilator consists of a handle at one end and a graduated rod like dilator at the other. During the procedure, the dilator is held in the dominant hand of the operator and gently inserted into the vagina via the vulva. The dilator is inserted into the mouth of the cervix with gentle pressure to dilate it.

The procedure is repeated with a Hegar dilator of greater thickness until the necessary cervical dilatation is achieved.

The overall length of this Hegar Dilator is 18.5 cm.

We manufacture dilators of varying thickness ranging from 1.0 to 26.0 mm to achieve varying dilatation and suit different patients.

They are also available in sets of 8, 14 and 26 with or without metal case to suit different surgical needs.

We manufacture Hegar dilators with premium quality surgical grade chrome plated brass that can be sterilised and reused.
