The Frazier Dura Hook offers a broad range of surgical advantages. Its principal use is to provide an atraumatic way to lift the dura membrane, with the purpose of avoiding haemorrhage and other injuries.

To this end, the instrument features an extra-round hook that facilitates the elevation of a large portion of the dura. In addition, the hook has a pointy, sharp end that easily traverses de fibrous dura tissue.
