The Farabeuf Retractor owes its name to the famous French surgeon Louis Hubert Farabeuf. Similarly, it is one of the most recognized surgical instruments.

Moreover, the retractor offers a wide range of benefits. For example, it has two blades that angle forward and then become straight with a terminal descending lip, which results in an L-shaped outline.

Consequently, surgeons can retract multiple layers of tissues with a strong grip. Also, the blade is ideal for widening deep surgical incisions.

Besides, the instrument is available in a set of two pieces and has different blade lengths. For instance, in the smaller set, the blades measure 23 x 16mm/26 x 16mm and 26 x 10mm/30x13mm respectively.

In contrast, the retractor’s larger set features 27 x 16mm/30 x 16mm and 30 x 10mm/34 x 13mm blades.

As a result, the last set is especially useful to retract heavy and large tissue areas, such as intra-abdominal organs.

Lastly, all our Farabeuf Retractors have an important role during dental, orthopedic and abdominal surgeries, and are available in premium grade stainless steel.
