The Deaver Retractor is one of the favorite devices within the abdominal and chest surgery areas. It was named after the famous American surgeon John Blair Deaver.

The retractor has a very unique design and comes in different models. Also, all of them provide a wide range of surgical benefits.

Firstly, the retractor is entirely flat and the handle inmediately turns into a deep curved blade. As a result, the whole instrument resembles a question mark.

Moreover, this particular shape allows surgeons to hold heavy tissues, such as the liver, stomach and kidneys, away from the surgical field.

In addition, the flat handle has a bottom hook. Surgeons and assistants can use this hook for resting their fingers and avoid fatigue during lenghty procedures.

Lastly, all our Deaver Retractors are available in a wide range of working end sizes and widths, including a double ended pattern with dissimilar blades.
