The Brodie Butterfly Probe / Grooved Director offers several benefits to surgeons. Its principal use is to serve as a guide during general and ENT pediatric surgery.

For this purpose, the instrument consists of a double-ended profile suitable to perform different functions. For example, the grooved shank is ideal to navigate other instruments and protect underlying tissues.

The Brodie Butterfly Probe / Grooved Director’s spoon end has a central notch that easily fits the lingual frenum. Also, surgeons can use this working end to depress the tongue and protect tendons and nerves.
