The Nelson Trocar offers a broad range of surgical benefits. Its principal use is to perform pericardiocentesis and drain other fluids from cardiothoracic spaces.

For this purpose, the instrument features a sharp-pointed tip that is ideal to traverse muscules and aponeurotic tissue. In addition, the tip is available in different sizes that range from 7.5 to 11.0mm. As a result, surgeons can create small or large punctures to drain fluids from different areas.
