The Doughty Tongue Depressor offers a wide array of surgical benefits. Its principal use is to provide an atraumatic way to guard the tongue along with mouth gags during oral surgery.

For this purpose, the instrument features an L-shaped blade that follows the contour of the jawbone. In addition, the blade is available in multiple sizes that range from 28 x 66 to 38 x 100mm. As a result, the device easily accommodates to pediatric and adult patients.

Moreover, the Doughty Tongue Depressor features a slot between the blade for fluid aspiration. Furthermore, the flat handle has a terminal inward hook to rest the hand and prevent slippage.
