For this purpose, the instrument features 15mm open-wire blades that ensure maximum retraction. In addition, the blades have convex curves that easily fit the orbital margin. Furthermore, the slightly curved outline of the device is ideal to press it against the facial contour.
Moreover, the Mellinger Eye Speculum features a spring bar between the handles. As a result, surgeons can press the serrated finger grips to tighten the width of the blades and facilitate the insertion under the eyelids.
